what is 1 Tev ?

First I like to show it with a *
- one * for 1eV but I failed
- my 3 browsers can not show only a 1/80000 part of it.
So i get the idea of showing how much energy this is by the thickniss of 1 peace of paper.
I do this because the moste humans can not imagine so huge Numbers.

seable light 2-3 eV
red light - a proton has 1,91–1,655 eV

2 eV - imagine one peace of paper for 1 eV - so You have 2 peace of paper (less than 1 mm)

ionisating radiation
over 5eV - atoms or molecules are starting to ionice and this causes a risk of cancer - 5 peace of paper

1000 peaces have about 10.02 cm - the thin side
this is a 801 600 Kilometer high paper stapel
the earth girth is about 40 000 Kilometer -
those packages of paper with the thin side packet together are enough to round the earth 20 times !

I hope this helps You to understand why the LHC is so dangerous.
